I am a nut in a chocolate bar.

Happy Halloween.

After school I went to Shoppers and went to town on the for sale candy.

I was pretty excited about this,

That is going to school for the Teacher, Intern and I tommorow.

I am actually like a bird in a cage. I REALLY don't like living in an apartment, becasue, we don't give out candy. So, being the crazy cake that I am, have been watching out my window for Trick or Treaters that have come by. I have also been running downstairs to catch some, dependng on what direction they are going, of course. My regulars haven't come by yet, but I suppose the night is still young.

I just want a house. My friend is working tonight, so I can't even go to their place and give out candy. My Dad said that they have only had 4. Ho hum. It will be more exciting in the next 5 yrs.

I was driving my bro home after school and we saw kids Trick or Treating RIGHT after school. Their parents were with them. When I was young, we would go around the block before supp, and then wait until after to go out (not eating any of what we got from our neighbours until we were done for the night).

It was orange and black day at school today. Pretty fun. The kids were over the top with excitement.

Tommorow is national "Kids Hungover From Halloween Candy" Day.

I hope this works

I can see into the future

Meredith, it's called playing hard to get.

Izzie, if you have to TELL someone that you are going to have hot sex with them, it's not going to happen.

My apartment is broken

I am watching this episode of Beverly Hills 90210 on TvTropolis, which is good times. I guess you could say that I am listening to it, becasue my TV has sound, but no picture. It's very strange, but I've seen it before, so I can remember what physically happens.

It is fareeezzing cold in my apartment too. My heat is controlled by the boiler in the basement of my building, at least that's what my Dad said when I called him. It's not really a big thing, becasue I am always cold. But the craziest thing is, I'm eating vanilla ice cream. I never eat dessert before supp, I don't know what came over me.

Today I went to Costco with my Mom, and it was SO warm in the store. I love Costco during the Christmas season, free food samples, lots of people. Call me crazy, but I love the chaos.

I think that I want to rent a scary movie tonight. I am looking at ones online to see what looks appealing. I am NOT a scary movie type of person, but my friend may come over tonight, so a scary movie would be good to watch.

Fun Friday Five

Today, one of my students told me that I smelt. Not good or bad, just smelt. So I thought that I would tell you the five things that I could have smelt like.

Fluer l'interdit by Givenchy. It took me forever to find this. I finally found it on ebay and don't wear it very much becasue it is my favorite.

Ici by Coty. Typical, drug store perfume purchase. My friend really likes it. It smells like Electric Youth the perfume, by Debbie Gibson,

Grass by Gap. I wear this in the spring and summer so that I can smell like freshly cut grass.

Amarige by Givenchy. This is very fancy and I rarely wear it.

Allure by Chanel. One of my students says that I smell like raspberries everytime that I wear this to school. It's funny, he's 5 and he can almost always tell when I am wearing this.

sometimes my titles don't match my entries

It's 9:30 and I am so tired. It hasn't even been that long of a day. It was actually, an odd day. Student 1 had a great morning, Student 2 wasn't there (boo-urns they're my favorite), Student 3 was fine and I got to spend a big chunk of the afternoon with Student 4 (which I never get to do). It was great.

Tommorow is dance day. The students are going to be going to different stations throughout the day and learning different dances. Tommorow is also,

"Wear your Lulu's to school because it's dance day day." Seriously. I love my lulu's. I just don't have enough of them. I need a pair of pants and an XL Scuba hoodie for Winter.

I love my Lulu's almost as much as I love sweet voice mail messages. :)

I don't know if I have said this before, but I am sure that my Landlord thinks that I am obsessive compulsive. Seriously. Every morning I have to come back for something. It's crazy. Mornings are weird anyways. I have taken myself off of coffee coffee. Ice Capps are still allowed. I would really like to figure out why my migraines are back, because I'd like them to not be here anymore.

I just finished decorating my apartment for Halloween. Here are pictures, of course, plus one of my plant which I named Audrey 2 after,

On with the pictures,

Baking while travelling asleep talking.

This is what my place looked like last night between 4 and 7:30. I had family and friends over for dessert. I made Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars, Saskatoon Berry and Red River cereal muffins, Strawberry Shortcase and Chocolate Chip cookies. It was good, I had 10 people in my apartment. It was good times. I did recieved this as a gift,

An aloe vera plant. Or, as my Grandma used to call it, a "Healing Plant." The problem, I don't know how many time I should water it.

Woah, I thought that I would be able to make this longer, but I just caught myself nodding off. I did that today at school, but one of my students covered for me and said, "You were just looking down and it looked like you were sleeping but you weren't." I love children. One of my students talked to me today. They said "Ok."

Here is a weekend away update. No longer are we going to Edmonton, and not Regina, but... Costco. My Mom hurt her foot so we deiceded to go to Costco instead of venturing out of town. Take that cutest little boys ever (sarcasm).

Costco, yeah...

Headaches and heartaches

An update on Thursday, when I didn't know what was going on because I had the worst headache in the world. It was horrible. When I have a migraine, any kind of light is like getting stabbed in the eye. The. Worst. Pain. Ever. So I watched Grey's Anatomy while covering my head under covers on my couch. It was so horrible, I get shivers just thinking about it. I was so hungrey, but I could barely move. I call my Mom and Dad and cried. When Grey's was over, I went online to book a sub for Friday, which was murder. After that,I was in my completely dark apartment, but I could still feel the pain of light somewhere. It was from the fait streetlight outside my window. I fell half asleep and fell off of my couch in the middle of the night, and crawled to my bedroom. Let me tell you, that night I didn't know if I was going to wake up or not.

So, this weekend, we were suppose to go to Edmonton to see my friend and his family. And to shop. Not a lot, but as much as I need (in 2 days). I was so excited because every time that I have planned to go and see them, something has come up and it has made me incredibly sad. Well, that's par for the course this time. Someone decieded to slash my tire that I just got new in August. I cost me $310 to get 2 new ones. There is a whole in my heart that has gotten a little bit bigger and another piece of my heart has broken off. Honestly, the cutest little boys ever. I cried when we decieded not to go. Instead we're going to Regina (like that's really going to help).

AND, while I'm on this little emotional roller coaster of a weekend rant, tommorow, I'm having people over for dessert. About 12, family and friends. Not a fricking clue what to make. Strawberry shortcake, ice cram and....? No clue what else to make. I'm overstressing on this, but it's better to over stress than not to stress. It's causing me a headache and I will have a heartache becasue I want everyone to be surprised by what I make.

and this is me always, my friends.

What were you thinking?

Derek: I want to marry you. I want to have kids with you. I want to build us a house. I want to settle down and grow old with you. I want to die when I'm 110 years old, in your arms. I don't want 48 uninterrupted hours. I want a lifetime. Mmm. Do you see what happens? I say things like that and you fight the urge to run in the opposite direction. It's okay, I understand. I didn't, but now I do, I do. You're just getting started and I've been doing this for a long time now. Deep down, you're still an intern, and you're not ready.

Meredith: I'm not ready right now. But things can stay the way they are, and I can get ready. I'll get ready.

Derek: Things can't stay the way they are. We can still meet in the elevator, the on-call room... and maybe you'll get ready. And I'll wait. I'll wait until you're ready.

Meredith: Okay, then...

Derek: Yeah, but what if, what if while I'm waiting, I meet someone who is ready to give me what I want from you?

Meredith: What if you do?Derek: I don't know...

STOP. Don't talk anymore McDreamy. DO NOT let Lexi become that something. Please, for all of the dark and twisty girls out there, please.

Fun Friday Five

Better Already by Northern State.

Rockers to Swallow by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. It was the cafeteria song on Grey's last night. It's an odd video.

This site is fun
The Human Clock

It's funny how my body react differently when I get migraines. This afternoon I went to the gym (becasue my doctor recommends that I go to the gym, even when I have migraines. I went this afternoon and worked out like a beast, I honestly thought hat I might pass out afterwards. But, nothing. I barely broke a sweat. I get tougher and I don't even realize it.

I love love love this song,

I can have fun tonight because I don't work tommorow. YAY!

I was in the line at Tims and 2 little boys were walking home from school. They were probably about 5 and 9. The 5 yr old was walking a few steps behind the other when he started crying, and threw his backpack on the ground. The 9 yr old kept walking and asked "What's wrong?". When the 6 yr. old didn't answer, the 9 yr old stopped walking, turned around, and asked again. The 6 yr old picked up a stick, squatted on the ground and began playing in the mud, still crying, and said,

"School was hard this week. My brain thought a lot. I just want to play with this stick."

Well said.

This is also a fun site. It is the most recent pictures that have been put on Livejournal.
Like The Human Clock, it automatically updates.

This is the greatest sign ever,

That was more than 5, but I'm ADHD, so pick your 5.

:)

is anybody out there?

Really. I think that people read my blog, but I could be wrong. I know awesome Ali does, but that's about it. I just think maybe all my friends are just really good listeners.

I would like to thank Fergie for letting the world know that yes, if you are not a pretty girl, thay you can still get a HOT boyfriend.

I am typing this in an e-mail to myself becasue I am having trouble getting onto my blog. I will save it and post it when I have to.

*edit*

I have a bitch of a migraine. I thought that I would write as long as I could stand being in front of the computer light, which was about 2 minutes ago. I feel like I am going to be sick. Oh the joys of migraines.

Sleep time.

I am the...

But I am very tired. You know those days when you wake up and think, "I am going to come home right after work and go to sleep." Ya right. I had to pick up my car (oil change, tires changed), I have a friend coming over to drop off some stuff at 6:30 and then Grey's is on at 7. My special friend quite possible may want to do something tonight.

Napping starts...NOW.

random child cuteness

Today my morning class made bread with the Intern. After, she wanted them to draw a picture of making bread. She reminded them to put their name on the picture. I told some of the children that they should try writing their last names too. One little boy, who had already written his first name, had his hand up, so I sat down beside him,

Him - "I don't know how to write my last name."

Me - "That's ok. I can help you."

Him - "Ok (big smile). How do you spell Batman."

Me - "I don't think Batman is your last name."

Him - (another big smile) "It's James. How do you spell James?"

We spelt James and I told him how lucky he was to have such a great name. Then he said,

Him - "No, that's the middle name." While motioning his hand in a horizontal line.

Me - "Oh, ok. Do you know your last name?" (He nods) "What is it?"

Him - "How do you spell Batman?"

We have been talking in class about calling the Teachers Miss., Mrs. or Mr. depending on if they are a man or a woman. We have also talking to the class about what first, middle and last names mean. I went over this with the student. The student is very cute and always has a smile on his face. I asked him again,

Me - "My last name is M.... What is your last name?"

Him - "How do you spell Batman?"

We went with Batman.

:)

Just when I was nice and rested

I always check my tires. Getting in or out of my car, as subtle as possible. Just in case something looks odd. So imagine my surprise when a co-worker came to relieve me for supervision and said

"Keri, did you know that you have a flat tire?"

So, I go to look out (when I should have been eating, but whatever) and sure enough, it's flat. I look at it closer, and it looks like it has been cut. I went inside and called my Dad, a friend of mine, and CAA.

After the bell rang, I waited for CAA while my students were in music. When the guy came to change the tire, he looked at it and said,

"Yep, it's definetly been slashed." Nice. After he put the tire on and I went back inside, one of my co-workers came up to me and said,

"What if it was your ex?"

I don't think it would have been. I don't think that he would do that. But then again, I don't know him anymore and he does want money from me.

After school I drove to the shop that I take my car to, (Goodyear on 8th) and need the front 2 tires replaced (even though it was just the front driver that was slashed, and I am due for an oil change.

The tires are going to cost 225 and the oil change is usually 30ish, I think.

Next weekend, my parents and I were going to go to Edmonton so that I could do a little retail therapy and see my friend and his family.

I worked with this friend a while back and we have kept in touch since. He has a great wife and 2 (3 any day now) boys.

His 2 cuter than cute boys that I have never seen, except in pictures. They send me pictures and cards and I send them books and clothes. Seeing these boys will fill a hole in my heart. So cute, I have pictures of them everywhere in my apartment.

Notice I said WERE.

Probably not going anymore becasue of the friggin' tires.

fuckfuckfuck.

They're really great.

After I make this post, I am going to have supper with my Dad, and then sleep forever. Probably not, but I seriously could sleep forever I think. I am so tired that this morning, I thought that it probably wasn't safe for me to be on the road. I thought the same thing last night. I worked Saturday from 11-730 and then again from 7-2 am on Sunday night and then up for school (to teach) Monday morning and then back at the Hospital last night for a 10 hr shift, and back at school today. I am so tired I am in pain.

One of my students told me yesterday that I should quit working at the Hospital. His exact words were,

"No more working at the Hospital. You get tired and then you're grouchy. Help at the school only."

I'll get on that as soon as that money tree that I ordered shows up.

So, I have a really great friend. They're funny and sweet and handsome and mature and older and great. You may hear bits and pieces about them in the future, so I thought that I would tell you a bit about them first.

One of my co-workers was saying how their child developed whirlpool folliculitis after staying at the Best Western Seven Oaks Inn in Regina. They were talking to another co-worker, who, a couple of years ago, had the same thing happen to both of their children. I just thought that I should send a warming out to everyone.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_Tub_Folliculitis

That's all for now. I must go and fight the battle that is eating or sleeping.

What would you like to know about me?

I'll put the answer in picture form.
Any excuse to use my camera.
Good night.

Private Practise was about me tonight

which kind of had to do with love....

I have the night off. The first night in forever. I could have worked, but I had a bit of a headache, so I said that I couldn't go in. Work was a little exhausting today. I did laundrey, and my friend just got off of work, so we might do something. I love my jobs.

Since I am blogging about my life, I thought that I would include this just to let people know how things are going,

I am super excited becasue in a couple of weeks, I am going to Edmonton to visit my friends and their 2 (3 by then!) adorable little boys. Shopping will be had as well, of course. I love them!

It is 8:00 in the evening and I haven't had supper yet. I have this love.hate relationship with food. I don't really hate food, but I can go without it for periods of time. Side note - eating pineapple makes women taste better. :) I just finished reading this article,

Halloween Survival: Don't Buy Your Candy Yet

3 hours 16 min ago by FitSugar

I did it. I couldn't resist. The bags of candy were two for $5.00, so I thought I'd stock up for Halloween early, you know, for the trick-or-treaters. Bad mistake. I've already opened one bag just to have one taste after dinner, and now they're in the pantry calling my name after every meal. It is a slippery slope.

Seriously ladies, do yourselves a huge favor. I know there are tons of bags of candy at the grocery store and just about everywhere you look are signs of Halloween, but don't fall for it. The candy is for the kids who come a-knockin at your door, so if you buy it and eat it all, your body will feel crappy from downing all that sugar and you'll feel bad that you have none to give away.

So take my advice. Learn from my mistake. Wait to buy your candy until a few days before Halloween. We all know that holidays are the toughest time to stick to our healthy eating plan, so don't start earlier than you need to.

Source

It really makes me sad that I won't be able to give out Halloween candy this year. Nor did I last year. Children don't come to my building. I feel like making a huge sign that says "Buzz apt #... for candy." and hanging in my window.

Thanks for the weekend

I just got back into town from the lake. My family has a cabin there and for the past 7-10 or so years, we have gone up there for Thanksgiving Dinner. It's a catered buffet style, but SO much better. This afternoon, we went for a long walk, together as a family. It was pretty awesome becasue we never do those sorts of things. It was great and wonderful becasue now I have this...

A Kodak Easyshare Z885. 8.1 Mp. It's great. I accidently protected some pictures that I took, and now I have no idea how to retrieve them. but I'm sure I'll figure it out. It's so great to have my "eyes" back. When my other camera broke, it was like someone took out my looking eyes. It makes sense to me.

I am working tommorow at 7 (for 12 hrs at stat pay), so I am going to call it a night soon. Here are some pictures of the weekend,

I don't know how I got this picture, but I really like it.

This is my pet rat Moe. (Moe says "Hello everyone!)

There were tons of Deer and Elk everywhere at the lake.

And lots of cute, fat, hungrey squirrels.

I really don't like doing these quickie updates.

My student won the Turkey Tro on Thursday. He was SO excited!!

Grey's was SO great this week.

I got a new camera. It's so great.

I have to go becasue we're leaving for the lake and I slept in so my parents are picking me up.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Exciteday

I am so excited about tommorow, becasue,

1. It's the last day of work before a 4 day holiday.
(2 of those 4 days will be spent at the lake. The whole family is going to be up there for Thanksgiving dinner, in which no one will have to cook (it's being catered, sort of).)

2. It's Turkey Day at school
(the students run to the hill and back to get tickets to enter a draw to win a Turkey for their family). Plus, one of the classes that I am in are going to be making Pumpkin Pies.

3. GREY'S ANATOMY.

4. It's Jean day at school.

5. Tommorow it will be 3 weeks until my trip to Edmonton!!!

6. I am going to buy a new digital camera.

7. GREY'S ANATOMY!!

8. It's payday.

9. Shaw is coming to give me more channels.

10. Grey's Anatomy is on. I did not watch Private Practise tonight. I don't think that I am going to watch it anymore. Not so much for it.

11. I am going to go to the gym and run my ass off.
(I haven't been as much as I was going before, becasue I have been working like a beast)

On side note #1...

I live next door to my landlord. I swear she must think that I have OCD, because almost everyday I forget something as soon as my apartment door closes. And everyday I say under my breath,
"I must think I have OCD."

On closing side note...

My students, oi, it's like those gophers that peek out of the machine at the fair and you have to club their heads with a mallets.

http://whacamole.com/
I can't believer there is actually a site.

Good thing at least 1 of my 4 students is a sweetheart.

I have a headache, so I am going to go to sleep...yes, before 10.
Have a good night.

Monday, October 1, 2007

here it is, for the last time

I worked this weekend. I work 12 hrs on Friday night, 12 hrs. Saturday night, and 12 hr on Sunday day. On Friday at work (Hospital), one of the nurses told me to count how many hrs I had worked this pay period, becasue they thought that I would be in the running for overtime pay (highly unlikely, but appreciated none the less). Overtime is 80 hrs in a 2 week period or 12 12 hr shifts in a 4 week period. So, off I went. 81. 81!! It's weird, becasue I'm not even trying to "keep myself busy" or "occupying myself".

Random hidden secret time,

I hate that I have had the facial skin of a 14 yr, since I have been 14, and I am almost 30. I have tried everything, EVERYTHING. It really makes me feel really gross when I get home from work, and I look like yuck.
